The landscape surrounding this Hortonville, Wisconsin home was showing its age, and after purchasing the property, our client reached out to us to create a fresh, cohesive design. The project included all‑new hardscapes—a redesigned front walkway, an expanded patio, and a dedicated firepit area—to better complement the home and improve functionality.
In the front and side landscape beds, we introduced entirely new plantings while preserving a select group of mature existing plants. The plant palette features pollinator‑friendly perennials, flowering shrubs, evergreens, and ornamental grasses to ensure year‑round interest. The new concrete front walkway echoes the home’s arched windows, with a contrasting brick border that adds definition and charm.
The backyard design continues this theme with an expanded concrete patio that mirrors the same graceful arch shape and brick detailing. Because the property borders a pond and has a high water table, significant regrading was required to improve drainage around the patio and lawn areas. A new firepit space was positioned between the house and the pond to create a welcoming gathering spot for family and friends. Fresh planting beds around the patio and along the back of the home repeat the front‑yard palette, tying the entire landscape together.
