Contemporary New Home Landscape - Mount Pleasant, WI

For their new, contemporary home in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, our clients wanted a landscape that would match the modern vibe they were going for. Different paving materials were discussed with concrete being chosen for the main paved areas as it was not only budget-friendly, but it also fit with the landscape theme we were designing around. We did include bluestone to highlight a couple of areas within the front walk as well as the patio.

The front yard has a walkway of concrete sections connected by a full range bluestone circle that appear to overlap the concrete. Linear plantings help to emphasize the architectural lines of the home. The plant palette is made up of evergreens (boxwood and birdsnest spruce) as well as flowering shrubs and long blooming perennials. Aluminum bed edging helps to create nice, crisp plant beds.

Full range bluestone steppers at the custom size of 30" square connect the service door to the backyard and also emphasize the entry points into the patio. We highlighted the fire pit circle to visually differentiate it from the rest of the patio as a special space. The rest of the patio has spaces for dining and a hot tub. Similar plants are used around the patio to coordinate with the front yard and create a cohesive look. Low voltage landscape lighting completes the design.

Installed in summer of 2024, check back for photos of the finished project.
