This was the second landscape design we did for this client. They were in the process of building a new home on Lake Michigan and had worked with an architect who we had partnered with before. So it was a perfect match for us to design a landscape around their new contemporary home in Oostburg, Wisconsin.
The architect had already specified Corten steel raised planters at the home, so we carried that linear theme through to the rest of the landscape. Minimal plantings were used around the home as it sits on a wooded lot. Lawn areas were also kept to a minimum, On the lakeside of the home, we let Lake Michigan be the focus with simple plantings of boxwood and a low ornamental grass at wither corner of the home. Rectangular stepping stones form a path around the home under its large roof overhangs.
