Transitional New Home Landscape - Summit, WI

Our client had already settled on the shape of their front walk when they contacted us about creating a landscape design for their recently built home in Summit, Wisconsin. We played off the curves of the front walk for the plant bed shapes. The plant palette is a mix of flowering shrubs, long-blooming perennials and ornamental grasses. Boxwoods provide winter interest and Japanese tree lilacs add height to the plantings. Those trees are uplit at night with low voltage landscape lights along with pathlights along the walkway.

An existing covered patio was part of the house but our client wanted additional outdoor entertaining space and room for a hot tub. A simple concrete patio was designed with surrounding plantings that mimic those from the front yard. Square stepping stones provide exit points from the patio. A privacy berm was provided for screening of the patio from neighbors next door.

Designed by James Drzewiecki, APLD and Hannah Paulson
