Our client's existing patio was too small, lacked functionality and felt separated from the rest of the backyard so we were hired to design a new outdoor setting with multiple spaces. A new dining area was defined using patterned bluestone and a cobble border, separating it visually from the rest of the new patio which was done in colored concrete. Separate stone fire pit area was created that cuts into the slight rise of the backyard. Our client also requested a quiet area where she could spend some quiet time and relax with some coffee or a good book. Mission accomplished with the circular seating area paved in irregular bluestone. It is surrounded by slate chip mulch and cool colored shrubs, grasses and perennials. A Japanese maple anchors that area. The whole project was designed in an Asian style per our client'e request, highlighted by the pathway created by panels of irregular bluestone which is the entrance to the backyard and new patio.
