2013 Silver Award for Excellence in Residential Landscape Design and Construction - Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association
We were able to start with a clean slate on our client’s recently purchased property in Germantown, Wisconsin due to the home’s minimal front yard landscape. Besides wanting colorful perennial plantings mixed with trees and shrubs, the client was looking for a more interesting front walk to replace the builder installed straight concrete walk.
To create the casual feel the client wanted, we designed a curvilinear flagstone walk with a circular landing at the midpoint which hosts an inviting sitting area surrounded by fountain grasses and a flowering crabapple. Curved planting beds sweep across the front of the house, filled with perennials that offer continuous bloom and tie the house to the landscape. A generous bed with additional perennials, grasses, and shrubs surround the lamp post to welcome visitors up the driveway to the charming front walk. A low bermed planting bed was added with red-twig dogwood, spruce, and a ginkgo tree to screen the home from the nearby T intersection.
The home now stands out in the neighborhood as a property that welcomes visitors with continuous color and unique plant compositions.
